The beer undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle and contains fresh, live yeast. In 2021, Brugs Tarwebier was awarded a medal at the World Beer Awards for the category of World’s Best Wheat. In 2024, it was also awarded a silver medal at the World Beer Awards.
